What are our more sustainable fabrics?

These are textiles and fabrics that we define as made from a minimum of 50% more sustainable materials that we consider to have a lower environmental impact to conventional alternatives. At the moment, that is recycled polyester, organic cotton, and cotton sourced as Better Cotton. Find out more about how we're improving our textile sourcing by clicking the link below.

Decor choices that consider the environment

We’re proud to offer a range of Roller blind, Pleated blind, Roman blind and curtain fabrics manufactured from recycled polyester yarn, originating from recycled PET polyester plastic bottles.

Why is recycled polyester better?

Uses materials that would otherwise end up as waste, reducing reliance on petroleum for fibre production.

Production processes use less water, chemicals and energy than virgin polyester.

Why is linen better?

  • It requires less water to cultivate than cotton and is good for soil health.

The hemp revolution

In our Calm collection we have an exciting range of Pure Hemp fabrics.

Hemp is a natural plant fibre known for its brilliant durability and resilience, which are both key qualities when it comes to window dressings. Because of its inherent strength hemp is an excellent fabric for curtains and blinds, and means their quality will last even through regular use.

Hemp is really a valuable fabric when it comes to sustainability. It’s easy and fast to grow with minimal chemicals and minimal waste, which is great news for the environment.

In fact, for every tonne of hemp produced, 1.63 tonnes of carbon gets cleared from the air giving this environmental super fibre the lowest ecological footprint of all textiles.
